PVNext Corporation, a subsidiary company of RITEK group, located in Hsin Chu county Taiwan, is

devoted to state-of-the-art CIGS ( copper, indium, gallium and selenium ) solar modules development

and manufacturing. CIGS solar modules are less expensive per Watt installed, more efficient in low-

angle and low-light conditions and consume less material overall. PVNext CIGS solar module's

efficiency has reached to 10% in a 600mmx 1200mm module size, and targeting to 12% in 2011. 30MW

CIGS production line has been completely installed in 2010, ramp up is under proceeding.



Core Technology of PVNext


PVNext take its deep coating technology as the foundation, researches and develops the CIGS

technology voluntarily. Because of the ability of self-assembly knowledge in equipments, compared to

other domestic manufacturers to use the turnkey solution mode, the equipment arriving time

reduces, therefore, PVNext simultaneously has the production equipment development ability and the

fast quantity produces which already accumulates certain energy in the technology , research and

development.

CIGS Solar Modules

CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) consists of Copper (Cu), Indium (In), Gallium (Ga) and Selenium. (Se). CIGS forms into phases under different temperatures and compositions. Chalcopyrite structure is the main CIGS application. Different compositions of elements lead to different semiconductor and light-absorbing properties. CIGS has a wide spectrum for light absorption. Its reliability and efficiency is the highest among different thin film technologies.

CIGS Module Functions

Solar modules are a device to convert sunlight into electricity.

CIGS modules function with the p-n interface consisting of P-type CIGS layer and N-type buffer layer. When sunlight is absorbed by the CIGS layer, electrons hit against each other and go through the buffer layer and hence electricity is generated. These are so called photoelectric effects. The direct currents generated by the modules can be converted into alternate currents so that solar systems can be integrated into the general power system.
